Produced and recorded by Michael Badger (King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Amyl and the Sniffers, SONS) and described as sounding like “Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Dreams’ with an adrenaline shot to the heart” a la Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction, ‘R U Happy Now?’ is catharsis adrenalized. It is a song of contradictions, it is at once furious and tender, defiant and unsure, triumphant and defeated. Inspired by the novel and film adaptation of ‘The Shining’, ‘R U Happy Now?’ is the story of someone possessed, where the mind is the haunted hotel and the memories are the ghosts that walk its halls.
